Physical Therapist

National Certified Pilates Teacher

Balanced Body Master Instructor

Founder, Pilates Instructor, Physical Therapist Limitless Pilates

Jamie was born and raised in St. Charles, MO. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Fitness, and Master of Physical Therapy.

Playing competitive sports from an early age through college seemed to provide a false sense of body awareness.

"Only when introduced to Pilates in 2003 while living in Colorado, did I really start to understand how the body is designed to move," Jamie says. "Both my mind and body have been, and continue to be, enlightened and educated as to how the joints interact with each other, which muscles perform the movement and more importantly which ones should not be involved. I am very excited to share this with clients.”

During the summer of 2013, Jamie relocated with her husband and two daughters to Columbia. It is Jamie’s goal now to share her knowledge and experience with the community of mid-Missouri.

Jamie’s active lifestyle includes playing soccer, softball, basketball, roller blading, running, skiing, swimming, biking, chasing her kids, as well as bending, lifting and twisting at work. Now entering her 5th decade, she has remained injury-free for the past 15 years due to practicing Pilates several times a week and implementing these Pilates principles in everyday life.

Jamie specializes in helping clients with low back pain or painful orthopedic conditions, athletic injuries (especially distance runners, endurance athletes), neurological conditions (Multiple Sclerosis, cerebral palsy, etc.) and vestibular issues.

It's dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you are feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. I was so preposterously serious in those days… Lightly, lightly - it's the best advice ever given to me… So throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quick sands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That's why you must walk so lightly. Lightly, my darling. --Aldous Huxley
